Branching Out Programme Funded by Fermanagh Local Strategy Partnership through Measure 3.1 of the EU Programme for Peace & Reconciliation (Peace II)
The 'Branching Out Programme' will be delivered through the following themes:
- Seeds of Change
Women in Agriculture in partnership with the College of Agriculture, Food and Rural Enterprise - Enniskillen Campus, have developed the 'Seeds of Change' cross - community programme for rural primary schools. The programme is designed to bridge the generation gap between children and adults in the context of developing a deeper understanding of specific rural and agricultural issues. The programme will be delivered to twenty rural primary schools over a two-year period and approximately 400 children and adults will benefit.
Children will participate in poetry and poster competitions entitled 'Seeds of Change'.
- Bloomin' Healthy
Women in Agriculture will deliver a health programme, which will focus on the difficulties facing farm families. The programme will be designed to provide 80 families with training and information on a range of topics relating to health and well-being. Each participating family will receive a Health & Well-being Award at the end of the two-year programme. - Budding Leaders
Women in Agriculture will deliver a rural leadership programme providing participants with the necessary skills and experience to represent their community at a range of levels. Themed workshops will address specific issues important to the participants. The programme will provide opportunities for networking and travel raising the profile of participants involved in agriculture in Fermanagh and beyond. This programme is open to any member of the farm family. - Who Can Apply?
The 'Branching Out Programme' is open to farm families in County Fermanagh. All participants must provide a farm reference number in order to enrol on the programme. Courses will be delivered at suitable times in rural areas based on demand. Basic travel and child/eldercare allowance will be paid to participants were applicable.
Rooting for Business Programme Funded by EU Programme for Peace and Reconciliation under the direction of Training for Women's Network.
The 'Rooting for Business Programme' will be delivered through the following themes:
- Country Market Initiative
Women in Agriculture through the Country Market initiative will actively encourage farmwomen to become producers of fresh quality local produce. A training and support programme will provide opportunities for new applicants to investigate new market opportunities. Advice will be given on the supply chain from gate to plate including marketing, product promotion and innovative products. - Farm Business Initiative
This initiative will provide education and training qualifications for farmwomen equipping them with the skills necessary to improve the performance of their farm business. The participants will be encouraged to plan for the future, to generate new ideas and to consider the options available to them. Farmwomen will be encouraged to build on their current skills and learn from their experience as they participate in the 'Farm Business Initiative'. Women in Agriculture will provide guidance and support to participants in their entrepreneurial endeavours. - Personal Development
Personal development courses will provide capacity building opportunities to participants, which will enable them to perform more effectively on a business and personal basis. The personal development courses will be accredited and delivered over a ten-week period. Key to this programme is the development of communication skills giving participants the opportunity to develop new friendships, helping to reduce rural isolation. - Who Can Apply?
